BTS brings ‘Merry Go Round’ music video to YouTube

BTS has released the official music video for “Merry Go Round” on YouTube, making the visual widely accessible after its initial release as a Spotify-exclusive video in June. The group shared the YouTube upload through its official channels, with the video appearing on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel.

“Merry Go Round” appears on BTS’ fifth studio album, “ARIRANG,” which was released in March. The song centers on the idea of being caught in the repetitive cycles of everyday life, using a constantly turning carousel as its central metaphor. The video is presented in black and white and follows the seven members as they navigate separate spaces before ultimately reconnecting. Its imagery builds toward a reveal that the seemingly enclosed setting is actually a massive carousel suspended in the sky. The visual treatment emphasizes the song’s themes of repetition, isolation and continuing forward despite circumstances that seem difficult to escape.

The carousel also connects “Merry Go Round” to BTS’ history. The group previously featured a carousel prominently in its 2017 music video for “Spring Day,” where it was associated with themes of waiting and loss. For “Merry Go Round,” BigHit Music described the imagery as representing a small world containing the members’ memories, reframing the earlier symbol within the group’s latest chapter.

The YouTube release arrives as BTS continues its “ARIRANG” era and world tour. “Merry Go Round” has also been part of the group’s live set, including recent performances in North America, while the official BTS Weverse page continues to feature related “Merry Go Round” content, including behind-the-scenes material.
